Domaine Augis

(Loire, France)

Philippe is the 5th generation of vine growers in Touraine to tend to their 18 hectares of vines. His ancestor, Silvain Augis born in 1785, worked in a quarry cutting flint and already located in the Commune of Meusnes, they all had at the time been splitting their time tending to their vines where the main grape then was Côt (Malbec). In 1988, Philippe was in partnership with his parents and took over the estate completely in 2002.

The estate cares for not only Côt but Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Pinot Noir, all planted to “perruches” soil (flinty-clay).
