Alberto Oggero was born in Canale in 1985 and twenty years later he finished his oenological studies in Alba, but his experience with viticulture dates back to his childhood, when he would follow his grandfather Sandro into the vineyards every time he had the chance. This lifelong love for the land of Roero culminated in 2009, when he accomplished his dream to restore his family's house and cellar, and take the care of his grandfather's vineyards into his own hands: Roero Arneis 2010 and Roero 2011 are the first vintages bottled under the Alberto Oggero label. Alberto currently owns and tends to 3 hectars of vineyard, and produces about 9.000 bottles per year.
Roero Arneis DOCG
100% Arneis. This wine comes from 25 year old vines in a sandy soil mixed with small areas of clay. The grapes are manually harvested in the middle of September and go through a fermentation period of 25 days in stainless steel vats. The latest vintage has a sapidity and acidity that lends a particular freshness to the batch that will allow a long evolution over the years.
Sandro ed Pindeta
100% Nebbiolo. This wine comes from 35 - 45 year old vines manually harvested near the end of June. Fermentation period last for 25 days in stainless steel and concrete vats. Aged in cement 8 months in the bottles before release.
